The Gower peninsula runs west from there — Langland and the southern bays first, then progressively emptier coast. Walks, dinner or a day at the beach can be included and remain secondary. Any hotel or cottage is your own booking, with access set entirely by that property.
City, Then Nothing
Swansea is practical and unpretentious, and the marina at its edge is where most visitors actually stay.
Then the road bends around the bay through Mumbles and the character changes within ten minutes. Gower was the first place in Britain designated for its landscape, and out past Langland it stops having much to do with anybody.
Weekends here are short, wet more often than not, and better for it.
Along the Bay and Out West
Swansea Marina and the seafront hold most of the hotels. Mumbles sits at the eastern tip of the peninsula and is where the city stops pretending to be a city.
Langland and the bays beyond it are where the cottages are. Tell me which side of that line you are staying on and I will work around it.
Women and Couples on the Coast
Women take short breaks here, usually two nights, and usually with no particular intention of filling them with activity.
Couples come for the same reason and often want to talk it through carefully first. Write together, tell me what you are both curious about, and tell me anything either of you would rather I understood.
