Baden-Baden is built around water that comes out of the ground hot, and around the nineteenth-century habit of taking several weeks to recover from absolutely nothing. The architecture, the avenues and the pace all still reflect it.
That pace is the reason people write to me from here. Private time in this town is not an evening carved out of a schedule — it is an afternoon that becomes an evening because nobody involved could think of a reason to stop.

Lichtentaler Allee, the Spa Quarter and the Hills
The Lichtentaler Allee runs along the Oos through the middle of the town: gravel paths, old trees, benches and the abbey at the far end. It is the nicest hour outdoors anywhere in this collection, and costs nothing.
The spa and hotel quarter around the baths and the Kurhaus holds most of the town's grand accommodation, much of it a century and a half old and entirely used to guests who prefer not to be discussed. I have no relationship with any of them and imply no admission, treatment or facility access.
The wooded hills rise immediately behind, with the Black Forest beginning at the town's edge — which makes combining a Baden-Baden stay with quieter forest days entirely natural.
Wellness, the Casino and What I Do Not Provide
People come here for thermal baths, treatments, concerts and the famous casino. All of that belongs to the town and to whatever you book yourself.
I hold no spa admission, no treatment bookings, no wellness privileges, no resort affiliation, no casino relationship, no gaming access and no club membership. If any of that is part of your plan, you arrange it directly and I am simply the private part of the day.
What I do provide is straightforward: unhurried company, genuine attention and complete discretion around it.
