Dinner, an evening out or time along the coast can be included and stay secondary. I claim no residence here and no standing availability.
City and Coast, an Hour Apart
Belfast is small, sociable and considerably more confident than its reputation abroad suggests. The centre is walkable, the hotels are good, and the evenings are warmer in temperament than almost anywhere else on this list.
Then the road north runs through Antrim and the country changes: basalt cliffs, long strands and towns that close early.
Between the two you have most of what this place offers — company in a city that likes talking, or silence on a coast that does not.
