Two Hours From Paris, Across the River From Trouville
Deauville is a straightforward drive or train from Paris, which is why it works as a weekend rather than a week.
Trouville-sur-Mer, directly across the estuary, is plainer and more of a fishing town — worth an evening for exactly that reason. The wider Normandy coast opens up from there.

A Weekend Nobody Needs to Hear About
Weekends here are short and often quiet ones, and I treat them that way. I answer every enquiry myself, keep the plan between us and ask only for what the two days require. - Less than people fear. Normandy is grey as often as not, and the town is better for it — this is a coast for coats and long evenings indoors.
