Before Bulgaria becomes a list of places, it is simply somewhere we could spend private time. I meet women and couples here, and the experience is built around atmosphere, conversation and discretion first.

Plans can be added at any point, or left out entirely. Nothing about the arrangement depends on being seen anywhere.

Some evenings are remembered for where they were spent. Most are remembered for who was there when the rest of the world stopped asking questions.

Bulgaria divides naturally into three worlds: the cities — Sofia's quiet capital calm, Plovdiv's eight-thousand-year-old lanes, Veliko Tarnovo stacked over its gorge; the Black Sea coast — Varna and Golden Sands to the north, Burgas and Sozopol to the south; and the mountains — Bansko under the Pirin, Borovets in the Rila pines, Velingrad's Rhodope valley.

Eight destinations, each with its own page, because where you are staying shapes an arrangement more than anything else you could tell me. Sofia is the deepest of them and not automatically the right one. Nothing here implies that I live in Bulgaria or am available across it on demand — tell me your dates and location, and whether you are writing for yourself or as a couple, and we can discuss what is genuinely practical.

Bulgaria's religious and cultural heritage — its cathedrals, monasteries, fortresses and living traditions — is treated here with the respect it is owed, as part of the country rather than part of any arrangement. How the Country Divides

The cities hold the depth: Sofia, the quiet capital under Vitosha; Plovdiv, eight thousand years old and still awake; Veliko Tarnovo, the medieval capital over its gorge.

The coast splits in two — Varna and the Golden Sands resorts to the north, Burgas and Sozopol's old harbour to the south — each with its own season and its own kind of anonymity.

The mountains are their own country within the country: Bansko under the Pirin, Borovets in the Rila pines, and Velingrad's misted Rhodope valley.

Women and Couples

Women write from every destination here — capital evenings in Sofia, coastal weeks on the Black Sea, slow days in the mountains. What sits underneath the enquiries is consistent: unhurried attention, entirely out of view, with nothing expected in return but honesty.

Couples are a real part of this and not a footnote. Bulgaria produces a strong share of couple enquiries, particularly for the coast in summer and the mountains in winter, where a trip already has a natural shape to it.

What matters is that the decision was made together, calmly, by two people who already talk to each other properly. No nightlife, casino or party dimension of any description. No beach-club, marina or boat privileges on the coast, and no private beach access anywhere. No spa partnerships, no included or complimentary treatments, and no medical or wellness claims about mineral water or thermal bathing.

No ski, lift, instructor or guide arrangements in the mountains, and no guarantees about mountain roads, weather or conditions. No heritage or fortress access — Bulgaria's monasteries, churches and citadels are living institutions of the country, never a dimension of any arrangement.

No government or institutional dimension — no relationship, contact or access involving any Bulgarian government body, ministry, embassy, consulate or diplomatic mission. No corporate, investor or executive relationships and no introductions.

Bulgaria ranges from a capital of over a million to resort towns where a stranger is noticed, and discretion means something different at each scale — anonymity in one, careful planning in the other. Your enquiry comes to me and stays with me. I reply on the channel you chose, ask only for what an arrangement genuinely needs — the destination, the dates, roughly where you are staying, anything you want me to understand — and never for personal detail that serves no purpose. I do not ask about your work, your background or your reasons for being in the country. Timing and meeting arrangements are agreed in advance rather than improvised. Access to any hotel, guesthouse or accommodation of any kind depends entirely on your own booking and on that property's visitor policies, access requirements and practical logistics. Couples can state boundaries in advance and they are treated as settled rather than negotiable.
